  • International Data Group, Inc. (IDG) is a Massachusetts registered and headquartered media, events and research company focused on the tech landscape. Founded in 1964 by Patrick McGovern, the organization is made up of International Data Corporation (IDC) and IDG Communications, which includes the CIO, Macworld, InfoWorld, and Java World brands, serving technology decision-makers and enthusiasts in 147 countries.
  • Founded in 1992 IDG Capital was the first firm to bring foreign venture capital into China. Today we work with private equity and venture capital fund managers, investment advisors and business entities around the world.
  • IDG Capital brings a powerful combination of global perspective and local experience to investment management. As long-term value investors, we are highly skilled at mobilizing global resources to address local needs, especially for inbound and outbound opportunities in Asia.
  • IDG Capital Vietnam began its journey in Vietnam in 2004 as IDG Ventures Vietnam, and following a rebranding in 2017 is continuing to invest in extraordinary companies as IDG Capital Vietnam. Our highly skilled team has an in-depth understanding of the Vietnamese market and enjoys close relationships with many influential business and government leaders. IDG Capital Vietnam is the first technology venture capital fund in Vietnam. Since 2004, we’ve been working with entrepreneurs to grow innovative and market-leading companies. IDG Capital Vietnam had $100 million first fund under management, with investments in over 40 companies in the technology, media, telecommunications, and consumer sectors. In 2022, IDG Capital Vietnam has launched its second fund $21 million under management, with investments in over 40 blockchain technology companies. Our offices are located in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Singapore.

  • Led acquisition of global IDG venture business and expanded footprint to 11 offices worldwide

2020

  • Lead the largest-ever dollar-to-yuan GP led restructuring fund in China (more than $600 million)
